Last Time I am EVER Spending That Much Money on Olive

(J)ey guys!

I know it has been over a month since my last post, forgive me! No one reads it anyways lol. But I am VERY bored at work so I figured, Why not! I'll post a blog today.

The last month has been pretty hectic for me. i have a lot of news to share for those who care! lol didn't mean to sound like Dr. Seuss.

For starters, let's begin with the title of the blog shall we?? So, I am a sucker for spoiling my dog Olive. i love to buy him things. I am those little pet shop's best friend because they could convince me that olive needs everything in the store or he will not live past tomorrow. So I went into Pet's Mart the other day (even though I like PetCo more Pet's Mart is much closer) to get olive some new food. he is the PICKIEST easter in the world when it comes to his food. The only thing he likes to eat is human food and anything that is on the floor, and now apparently anything that will put up a fight and not be destroyed in two minutes.

This kid has been chewing on everything! It has gotten so bad. I will turn my back on him for literlally 3 seconds and when I look back at him he has destroyed a notebook that was in a shelf. He loves to make me angry that's for sure. You wouldn't think that a small little puff ball could do so much damage -- beware! Coujou should be his new name! In the past few days, he has destroyed -- ready for this? -- two combs, 2 leashes, a pair of uggs, a pair of slippers, a notebook, 2 dvd's and a pillow!! It sounds like I just let him roam arund the apartment, but it seriously takes him a whopping 4 miliseconds to sink his teeth into something and shred it up. Don't let his cute little face fool you, he will betray you and chew up your favorite pair of shoes! he has no mercy!!

Speaking of mercy, the last and most valuable thing he managed to destroy was his collar. now, let me start off by saying that i have wanted this collar and leash set for him for about, I don't know, 8 months! I have saved and saved and waited and waited to get him this collar and leash and a couple days ago, I finally did! I got him the coveted Louis Vuitton collar and leash set. He looked so cute in it! .... for a night. I made the mistake of keeping it a little loose on his tiny little neck so that it wouldnt hurt him. It was kind of stiff when it arrived. The next morning he is whining is his cage so I have trey let him out. We continue to sleep, I made sure everything was off of the floor in the bedroom so our things are safe from sharp tiny teeth, and then I hear a weird sound. It was the sound of his bell (yes, he has a bell like a cat so I don't crush him) jingling around like its being shaken around the room... Immediately I get up because I realized that the jingling sound was coming from his collar, which could only be in Olive's mouth to be making that much noise. So i got out of bed and ran over to Olive, who was blissfully hopping around the room shaking his collar, to discover that it wasn't his collar that was in his mouth... IT WAS ONLY HALF OF IT!!!!!! He had managed to pull it off of his scrawny little neck while he was in his kennel last night and chewed on it! He literally chewed it in half right off of his neck!! He had it for one night before he destroyed a $260 collar!! I will have to post pictures of the tragedy when I get home. I was so angry! After everything I have done for him, he ruins the one thing I was dying to get him!!

ugh. puppies

granted it's not really his fault as much as it is mine. I bought a teething puppy an outrageousley overpriced designer collar and expected it to last. lol. yes. I caved into the tempation of overspending on my puppy! At least he still has the leash, so that's a plus. I might consider replacing it at the end of the summer when I go to New York City - but we will see.

I swear, I had a lab as a puppy, I know how this chewing-anything-and-everything-because-it's-fun-and-it-makes-my-dad-red-in-the-face stage goes, but Olive is just as bad! Maybe it's just a puppy thing. Dogs will eat anything. Noted.

Anyways, that is the most eventful thing that i needed to vent about. the dogs are driving me nuts. I put Gordo on KSL for $200 just to see if people were interested in buying him.. I got 5 voicemails and 3 phonecalls within an hour. Mind the fact that I didn't let trey know what I was doing, so that didn't go well. lol But at least we know we will have a few interviews to conduct if and when we decide that it is time to let Gordo play on a farm instead of the carpet in 750 sq fett of apartment lol..

BUT the apartment is great, I love it. Trey and I are doing well. School is stressful and I can't wait for it to be over.

Oh! and I got a Nordstrom internship for the summer which I am super excited about! They placed me in jewelry, which I have mixed feelings about because I really wanted shoes or Men's or handbags - but I am sure I will love it in the end. You can never g wrong with jewelry!

until next time, (which will be more often. I forgot how much fun it is to post a blog)

Finally! Pictures of My New Place!

(J)ey Everyone!
Sorry it has taken me soo long to compose a post. It has been hectic with moving in to my apartment and our internet has been such a pain! For some reason it would not let me load the pictures, SO. I am at my parent's house tonight and I am taking advantage of being here to post the pictures!

So the pictures a little out of order, I guess it uploaded backwards. I didn't take any pictures of the bedroom because it is a MESS! Full of boxes and just everything everywhere. So I took a picture of the closet which is only half full if you could believe it, we still have several boxes to unload that are full of clothes lol. The little hallway is right next to the bedroom and by the bathroom, so we added a shelf there and made it into a little nook and I love it! It is one of my favorite things about the apartment. Don't mind the living room, though. We still haven't found the perfect couch and loveseat to fill it, so we have pillows for a couch right now and a crystal jar full of jelly bellys as our entertainment until our tv is mounted lol. And we need side table lamps. So don't judge! lol I am surprised it is as clean as it is lol.

I wish we had more done, we still have so much to add to the walls and having furniture and our dining room table would be nice lol. But I promise when it is completely finished I will show everyone the update! We still have to paint the hutch in the corner a dark brown/black to match everything else and add bookshelves to the walls that we are making out of shutters! So consider this the preliminary stages of the apartment, and expect much more to come. Oh! And I have to show you the view, it is what convinced us that we just had to get this place.

Let me know what you think or what you think wold be a great addition!

Ciao!

Mother Earth is On My Side

(J)ey everyone!

So, in comparison to my last post this post is going to be much happier lol. Pretty much everything in my last post has completely changed. It was like Mother Earth decided to make my life a lot easier right after I posted ( i think she read it lol).

To start, everything ended up working out for my gorgeous apartment and I started to move my stuff in yesterday! I will post pictures as soon as I have most of the boxes put away and the couch has finally been moved in. My parents caved, they realized that it was pretty important to me and they gave me their blessing to move in with Trey. That seriously meant so much to me, it is hard to explain. I could not have done it without their approval, and it sounds dumb because I am technically an adult but it does not work that way in my family. We are all very close and my relationship with them means everything to me. Anyways, so I decided to do it and finally went in to sign the lease! I was soo excited too! And I am still excited, but I am slightly nervous now. After I signed the lease I went home to try to find pictures that I could put in the blog and when I typed the name of the complex in the first thing that popped up was reviews.... and then I got a really bad feeling in my stomach. Seriously, you guys - every single review was bad. "All they are after is money", "management is horrible, fee you for everything" and on and on and on. So I am not sure how this whole thing is going to turn out, but hopefully it will be ok. I started to feel better after I found out that a friend of mine from college literally lived right below me and she said that she loves it there, even though the reviews are true. They fee you to give you your utility bill and random things like that which is super annoying, but it is manageable. And the management are all bitches lol but hopefully we won't have to deal with them very much. The apartment is seriously everything on our list, and I didn't think it was going to be possible to find such apartment, so we might just have to deal with poor management for 7 months. I think I can do that lol.

And anyways, not so good news that has happened within the last couple of days. It is so insane I can't really even believe that it happened. So Trey's younger sister was complaining about stomach pains last Thursday and it go so bad that she had to go to the hospital. After they took a cat scan, it turns out that she has had a 10.5 pound tumor engulfing her entire stomach and ovaries!!!!!!! Can you believe that?? So we was scheduled for emergency surgery the next day and it was successfully removed thank god. The possibility of the tumor being cancerous was about 60/40. When the doctor removed it he said it was about 90% that it was benign. So lets cross our fingers, we will know Tuesday! Poor girl, she has been so strong. Can you even imagine having to absorb and go through so much within 24 hours?? She is doing well though and recovering fast, if all goes well she will be home on tomorrow!

Anyways, I will have to continue this post later, I have to get going. Sadly I have to work today.

k.

So you know how everything seems to be prefect in your life and then Life randomly decides to be a bitch?

(J)ey everyone,

So I so wish it was yesterday. Today has seiouslt been the worst day in my entire life.

First off, After I deiscoverd my amazing apartmnet that I was so exicted about - my parents had to ruin EVERYTHING. I am still confused as to how this all happened, but last night I was talking to my parents about the seriously most amazing, most perfect, most everything that i would ever want apartment and they totally FREAKED OUT. It was like they were hearing it for the first time! They have known for months that I was planning on moving out with Trey and they must have thought I was kidding because when I told them I was signing my lease the next day they just went off about how much they did not apptove of this.

And here's the thing, I am old enough to make my own decisions. I could very easuly say, "Well, I am going to do this anyways whether you approve of it or not". But i cannot do that to my parents. They have worked so hard to give me the life that I have, and I respect my parents and waht theyhave to say to me. So it is not that easy for me to just go ahead and so something that I would really love to do when it could possibly taint the relationship I have with my parents. They have been very understanding of my situation so far, if any of you know from experience - being gay and having your parents support you if not easy to find.

Trey on the other hand is not very happy. He has to find a place to live, whether it is with me or not. And we have been talking, shopping, planning everyday for months about moving out and at the last minute I feel forced to back out. he doesn't understand where I am coming from. His relationship with his parents is completely different from mine. My parents uptight and old fashioned. His parents are to-date and completely understanding of everything. His mom pretty much expected us to live together when they decided to get a smaller place. So it is hard for him to see my side of it - but I also understand why he would be upset. I kept telling him everything will be fine, we really will be able to live together blah blah blah because I reallt thought it was going to be fine! I didn't know my parents were going to transform into demons the day before I am supposed to sign the lease.

So sad new, I am probably not moving into my - well supposed to be my - apartment. it seriously is everything anyone could ever ask for in am apartment. It has a washer and dyer already in the unit, it has been completely redone. New carpet, cherrywood cabinets and floors, beautfil fireplace with an amazing view. And I ahve to sign the lease today in order to get the deal that would make it affordable for us. Three other people are waiting for my decision, the second I say I can't do it the office will take the next person in line.

Anyways, I had lunch today with my very good and close friend Jessica, and she told me something that I really took to heart. She told me that it may be the perfect apartment, but just not the right time. And things will come together when they are supposed to come together.

So that made me feel a little bit better about my sucky life right now. Today really has been so horrible. On top of this drama of my no longer mine apartment, my laptop was stolen today at school!! How could this day get any worse??? I went to the bathroom to wash my face before class, put it on the ledge by the sink because I was writing a paper before hand so it was out, and then walked to class. Literally, not even a minute after I realized I left it in the bathroom, I ran back to get it. Guess what. Some son of a bitch took it with him on his way out. I know! My brand new Macbook Pro - $1500 - gone in 45 seconds. It was dumb of me to not put it away, but I was in such a rush and so flustered thinking about all of the drama that was going on in my life that I completely spaced about the computer on the ledge.

I am so sad about it. All of my pictures, all of my documents, personal information--- EVERYTHING! In the hands of some jackass who will do who knows what with my stuff.

So I don't know what to do about it. I am going to have to figure out how to buy another one I guess. And after the convo I had with my parents last night, them buying it for me is definitely not an option I want to use. It is just one more thing they can hodl over my head.

But on a very small good note, I have an interview with Nordstrom today! So hopefully that goes well, which I actually have to get going to!

I'll write tomorrow and let you know about what happens today - apartment, computer, boyfriend, life wise lol

A Place to Call Home

(J)ey everyone!

Sorry it has been a few days since I have posted, I was at Trey's all weekend and they don't have internet anymore because they are moving this week. So it made it a little difficult to get a chance to post something.

Anyways, you know how I was looking for an apartment with my boyfriend and wasn't sure if we were ready to take that step or not? Well.... we decided to take a risk and go ahead and do it! I am so excited. I really feel good about this decision, even though my parents are less than thrilled about it. They have been somewhat supportive but actually really started to appose to the idea once they realized that I was being serious about moving out with my boy lol.

But yeah! We finally found a place, and it feels so good to know that we actually have an apartment lol. We have seriously been looking for so long, and it has been hard to find something that met all of our needs. Anyways, we decided on an apartment complex called Foothill Place Apartments - and it is soooo cute! First of all, they take big dogs. Which has been so hard to find. Also, they are a newer complex so we don't feel gross or ghetto lol. They have a pool, volleyball court, tennis court and a huge gym with a year round hot tub! The best part of all people - it is completely remodeled. it has an amazing cherrywood kitchen and bathroom and a granite stone fireplace that faces a view of the whole city that you can see through our balcony window! At night it will be so pretty with the fireplace lit! Once we walked through it, it wasn't a hard decision at all to start the paperwork. In the beginning, we were looking in the Murray-Sandy area because it was in the middle of our commutes. But I finally convinced Trey to look into apartments in Salt lake and I am so glad we did because if we hadn't we wouldn't have gotten this apartment! it is a little on the expensive side but it is totally worth it when it meets every checkpoint on our list.

I will post pictures once it is final, i just need to finish the paperwork tomorrow! We got a really good deal because we found it during the Valentine's Day special, so if we finish the paperwork tomorrow we get the special.

But I have a lot of homework to do, so I will see you all tomorrow! and hopefully you will be seeing pictures of my new place soon!

There is Good Luck in my Future

(J)ello!
So according to the Chinese, or ancient chinese tradition (or really my chinese uncle lol) if you get to touch a white tiger in your life you are supposed to have good luck! Well... guess what I got to do! Definitely something that I will most likely never get to experience again in my life. I got to hold a baby white tiger! I know, amazing right!

So here is the story behind the tiger. My neighbor is a vet, and apparently a few weeks ago a white tiger was being transferred somewhere and when they were unloading the tiger from the cart, they saw the little (well little in respect to a tiger) fur balls in the corner. The poor cubs were barely alive, they had been neglected the entire trip - the mother basically gave birth to them, shoved them in a corner and abandoned them! So since my neighbor is also a large animal vet, he go to revive her and take care of her for the next three weeks until she is old enough to be transferred to Missouri where a zoo paid $40,000 for the cub. According to wha I have been told there are only about 1100 left in the entire WORLD, and it just so happens that my family lives next door so we were invited to come see her! You don't even know what kind of experience it was to hold this cub, and she was so sleepy she didn't even want to stay awake during all of the commotion around her. I have a couple of pictures with me holding her but my mother has them on her phone so I wasn't able to post them, but I promise I will post them.

Anyways, that's the only major thing that has happened in my life the past couple of days. I have soo much hw to do but I thought I would be true to my word and post something since it has been a couple of days. See you guys soon! Hopefully something else a little more interesting in my life occurs within the next 48 hours! lol

My name is Julio... and I am a Shopaholic.

Well (J)ello! Welcome to the second post of my now consistent blog lol. To start off, I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone who read my blog and responded, it meant a lot to me to hear from you! So thank you :) Your opinions are very much appreciated (especially since the blog post was literally a book in length lol).

This day has been an interesting one for me. Part of me wants to say it was a good day and the other part of me wants to say that it was a horrible one. The good part of my day was actually work, which is not normal for me at all. usually work makes me feel like I would rather pull my teeth out then sit there for another 5 minutes. But today it was fun. We were allowed to wear jeans ( even though I can wear jeans whenever I want to, but the whole office usually can't) and since the Superbowl is this Sunday we had a mini tailgate party in our kitchen... and by kitchen I mean the lab/my desk lol. yes, if you are wondering we ate our food next to pipette tips and boxes of supplies lol. The food was so yummy it was hard o not stuff my face. And it didn't help at all that all the food was set up right behind my desk, taunting me all day. I didn't even have to get up to get another cupcake or chips and dip. I was literally the epitome of obesity and gluttony today lol and I am ok with that, it was definitely a pick me up that I won't complain about. AND I brought Olive with me to work to join the fun lol. So the combination of good food and my puppy being at work with me made for a really good work day.

On top of the fun day at work today, last night I worked at Banana Republic for the first time in weeks and I really enjoyed being there! Usually I would not be so excited about working at Banana, but I am pretty sure it was much more enjoyable because it had been so long since I had actually worked in the store and that maybe 4 customers walked in the entire night it was there. And since it was so slow, Banana Republic takes the opportunity of zero customers to allow you to have what they call a "fit session." Basically what is comes down to is me getting paid to try on clothes and shop lol. So that's what I did. I tried on all of the new clothes that we just got in and picked out some really cute things that I am in love with! The plan was to not get anything and just try some things on, but that plan almost 100% never works for me. SO....

Here is a few items that i bought last night/have on my Valentine's Day list of gifts lol

cute right? and believe me, the pants and the shirt are so much cuter in person. The picture does not do them justice at all. So I bought the shirt and the pants last night, and I already own the brown boots. I got them for Christmas but I put them in there cus I think they would be cute with the shirt and pants as an outfit! Which I will probably wear tomorrow lol. I know what you are thinking, those boots are crazy - but they are amazing in person. I almost know for sure that I am getting the peacoat for Valentine's day :) lol and the shoes I just added to my wishlist because I saw them last night and they are sooo cute on. If you have not noticed this about me before, I am a shoe addict. I love buying shoes. You can never have enough shoes. Well, enough clothing in general lol but shoes are always a good purchase for me.

Speaking of shoes, I wanted to get someone's opinion about Uggs.. for men. lol K so here me out, I KNOW that uggs are ugly. Believe me, I'm definitely on that boat. they are so comfortable! and honestly they are pretty cute when they have some skinny jeans tucked into them. Anyways, I decided to buy some a few days ago on a whim because the sales guy at Nordstrom was so nice and patient with me and my boyfriend that I felt bad not to get something. We were looking at like 8 pairs of shoes and I narrowed it down to the uggs and a pair of really awesome snow boots that were made out of stingray skin! so cool, but they were $800 so clearly the obvious choice was to get the Uggs lol. And really, I didn't buy them. Trey did. Lol It is part of my Valentine's Day gifts lol so anyways they arrived yesterday because they didn't have the color I wanted (grey) and I am so exicted to wear them! But I feel like i already attract enough attention to myself, and wearing uggs will just increase that attention so I am a little hesitant to wear them. Idk, what do you guys think? Should I keep them?

I would get their actual snow boot but I got a Ralph Lauren pair that are honestly a lot cuter lol so I can't justify me purchasing another pair of $220 snow boots. Can I just show you some of the stuff Trey and I got for Christmas/our birthdays? I feel like I am going to make references to them a lot, so it will help if you can picture them. K... brace yourselves. I'm not trying to show off or anything, but it's a little ridiculous. if you have met me and think that I am bad, you don't even know what a shopaholic really is until you have met my boyfriend lol. 3 new livers later and he would still be drinking 8 bottles of wine a day... now replace alcohol with clothing and you get Trey haha.

Ok. So these are the most of the big things we got each other over the past couple months. See how cute those boots are! They were only $180 and they are more manly I think. Plus, they can be laced all the way up or folded down to expose the fur that lines the inside. I seriously love them, one of my favorite gifts.
Then the black Coach bag was one of Trey's big gifts with a matching wallet and mine is the brown bag with a matching case that holds my car keys. I use it everyday for school and it is so cute, i just wish it was bigger -- it barely holds a book and my laptop lol. And the TB wallet was not a big gift, but I am seriously obsessed it with it. I have used this wallet everyday since I took it out of the box. Its so soft and so so so cute I just can't not use it lol. I put more of the gifts I got then Trey only because I don't want to seem obnoxious lol and I am getting tired of loading so many images lol but we both got a pair of jeans from Nordstrom, and I got him a really nice Burberry shirt that I am extremely jealous of, and the same pair of boots that I got from Banana but in a grey suede.. and a few other small things. lol. Keep in mind that these were all over the time span of November to now lol it just so happens that both of our Birthdays are close to Christmas.

Well anyways, now that I seem like a snobby spendaholic (which is not my intention lol, i just thought you might want to see some of the things I got because they come up a lot) let me know what you think about the Ugg situation! Maybe I should just put the money towards something else, or just oh Idk. Save it. lol K I am done. I promise.

Ciao!
